Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between Ziptrak and SRS outdoor blinds?
Both are track-guided systems, so the fabric runs inside side tracks that keep it taut and level rather than flapping loose. Ziptrak uses a patented version of that design which we’d rate above its competitors. The most visible difference is the hood: Ziptrak’s is more rounded, while the SRS hood is more of a box shape. Which one suits your space usually comes down to the opening and the look you’re after, something we can talk through at your measure and quote.
Should I choose mesh or PVC outdoor blinds?
Vistaweave mesh is the preferable product most of the time. It cuts sun and weather while still letting the space breathe, and how much it blocks depends on the weave you choose: 95%, 98% or 99%. Clear or tinted PVC will give you more blockage again, but it also lets in direct sunlight and its glare, which is the trade-off people don’t always expect. Plenty of our customers mix the two across different sides of the same alfresco, depending on which direction the weather usually comes from.
How long does it take to get Ziptrak blinds installed after a quote?
Because every blind is custom-manufactured to your measurements, installation typically happens 8 to 10 weeks after your check measure is confirmed. We’ll give you a firmer timeframe once your order’s locked in.
Can Ziptrak blinds be motorised?
Yes. Alongside the standard manual, spring-balanced operation, Ziptrak offers a remote-controlled motorised option. Hardwiring is what we’d recommend for a motorised blind, so it’s worth raising at your quote stage, since it can affect layout and cost.
What size can Ziptrak blinds be made?
Each panel can be custom-made up to 6 metres wide and 3.5 metres high, with hardware available in any Colorbond colour or a custom powder-coat finish to match your existing outdoor area.
How much do outdoor blinds cost in Perth?
Pricing depends on the size of your opening, the fabric you choose (mesh or PVC), whether you go manual or motorised, and how many openings you’re covering. If you have your measurements handy, give us a call and we can give you an approximate price over the phone. A free onsite measure and quote is what firms that number up, and it also gives us a chance to talk through which options actually suit your space.
Do outdoor blinds need much maintenance?
Vistaweave mesh is designed to need less cleaning than PVC since it doesn’t hold as much dust and grime, though both fabrics benefit from an occasional wipe-down. The track-guided Ziptrak system itself is built to be low-maintenance day to day, and our aftercare support covers any adjustments if the tension or tracking needs a check after the first year or two of use.
What areas of Perth do you service?
We work across the Perth metro area from our base in Anketell. If you’re not sure whether your suburb’s covered, the easiest way to check is to get in touch directly or request a quote online and we’ll confirm.
What should I ask before booking an outdoor blinds installer?
A few worthwhile questions: is the measure and quote free, and how soon can it be booked; who stays accountable for the job if something needs adjusting after install; what happens if a panel doesn’t sit right once it’s fitted; and can they show you the actual fabric and hardware finishes in person rather than just a photo online. Getting clear answers to these before you commit tends to avoid most of the issues people run into after the fact.
